Benefit
Elementary, middle and high school students in households at 50% or less of median income (기준중위소득) (about KRW 3,247,000 per month for a 4-person household). Educational activity support fee: elementary KRW 502,000, middle KRW 699,000, high KRW 860,000 (for supplementary textbooks, school supplies, EBS textbooks, etc.). High schools not covered by free education receive separate support for admission fees, tuition and textbook costs.

Intensive application period in 2026: Mar 3-20; applications are accepted year-round afterward (support starts from the application date).

Important notes
Support starts from the application date, so applying at the start of the school year is recommended. Existing recipient students do not need to reapply.

Card or simple-payment voucher; cash withdrawal is not possible. New recipients must separately apply for the voucher on the Education Benefit Voucher website. Recognized income is determined according to household composition and assets.
