- Benefit
- A health care provider visits the home (maternal meals, nutrition management, health management, breastfeeding guidance, newborn care, etc.). 5~20 days such as short-term 5 days, standard 10 days, and extended 15 days for a single baby, 10~20 days for twins, and 15~40 days for triplets or more, differing by the number of babies and birth order. 2026 service unit prices per day: single KRW 146,400, twins KRW 284,800, triplets KRW 369,600 (local government guidance). The government subsidy differs by income type, birth order, and period out of the service price, and the out-of-pocket amount is the difference (e.g., single baby, first child, integrated type, 5-day short-term: out-of-pocket KRW 73,000, government subsidy KRW 659,000 - Gunsan City 2026 guidance).
- Who is eligible
- Childbirth households where the combined out-of-pocket health insurance premiums of the mother and spouse are at 150% or less of median income (기준중위소득) (including basic livelihood recipients and the near-poverty group). Exceptional support: mothers with rare or severe intractable diseases, mothers with disabilities, multiple births, third child or more, North Korean defectors, marriage immigrants, etc. + additional support by local government.
- When to apply
- Can be applied for during pregnancy: apply from 40 days before the expected delivery date (about 34 weeks 2 days of pregnancy) until 60 days after the childbirth date. Voucher validity is 90 days from the childbirth date (100 days for triplets or more). For premature infants and infants with congenital anomalies, within 30 days of discharge; for miscarriage or stillbirth, within 30 days of confirmation.
- How to apply
- Apply online at Bokjiro (복지로, online.bokjiro.go.kr) or visit the public health center (보건소) in your residence. After selection, choose and use a provider supplied by the local government.
- Important notes
- Processing takes time after application (income check) - apply soon after childbirth. You cannot apply after 60 days from childbirth. Prices, out-of-pocket amounts, and exceptional support differ by local government.

- Income types: Type A (basic livelihood recipients and near-poverty group), Integrated type (combined national health insurance premium co-payment at or below 150% of median income (기준중위소득)), and Exceptional support (above 150% or special cases, varying with local government budgets). The full co-payment table by income bracket is not provided here. Please look it up at the public health center (보건소) or Bokjiro (복지로). Households above 150% may also have exceptional support depending on the region. Some local governments, such as Seoul, provide support based on birth order and insurance premiums without an income limit.
