Who is eligible
Men and women aged 20~49 who wish to be tested (regardless of marriage or children, including unmarried people and foreigners with a Korean-national spouse). Those aged 15~19 may apply if they are a couple (including prospective couples and de facto marriages).
When to apply
Any time you are preparing for pregnancy or are curious about your fertility (before pregnancy). Apply at the public health center (보건소) or e-Public Health Center (e보건소), receive a test referral, and take the test and file the claim within 3 months. Closes on a first-come, first-served basis when the budget runs out.
How to apply
Visit the public health center (보건소) with jurisdiction over your address, or apply online at e-Public Health Center (e보건소, https://www.e-health.go.kr) -> test referral issued within 5 days -> take the test at a participating medical institution. Inquiries: Health and Welfare Counseling Center (보건복지상담센터) 129.
Important notes
Only tests taken after the test referral is issued are covered (no retroactive payment). Complete the test and file the claim within 3 months of the application date. Applications may close when the budget runs out. Introduced in April 2024; from 2025, expanded to unmarried men and women, and from once per lifetime to 3 times.
Note
Up to KRW 130,000 for women and up to KRW 50,000 for men (separate amounts). One test per life stage, up to 3 times in total: age 29 or under (cycle 1), 30~34 (cycle 2), 35~49 (cycle 3). Regardless of income, marital status, or whether you have children. Only tests taken at medical institutions participating in the program are recognized.
