- Benefit
- Up to KRW 1,000,000 per newborn (KRW 2,000,000 for twins, KRW 3,000,000 for triplets or more). Limits by place of use: 90% of the out-of-pocket cost of the maternal and newborn health care service, up to KRW 500,000 at postpartum care centers, within a combined KRW 1,000,000 at hospitals and clinics (postpartum care, herbal medicine at Korean medicine clinics, etc.)
- Who is eligible
- The newborn and the father or mother must have Busan resident registration on the birth date and application date. Not available if both parents are foreigners
- When to apply
- Apply within 1 year from the day after the birth date after birth registration (the usage deadline is within 6 months of the birth date per the former public health center guidance)
- How to apply
- Apply online through Government24 (정부24) (Happy Birth (행복출산)) or visit the district/county public health center (보건소) where the birth was registered. Inquiries: Busan City Health Policy Division 051-888-3364
- Important notes
- Apply by the day before the date that is 1 year from the day after the birth date
- Note
- Regardless of income, an actual-cost settlement method (spending proof required). For newborns born on or after Jan. 1, 2025. Pharmacy drug costs and childbirth hospital bills are excluded.
