Who is eligible
Male workers whose spouse experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth.
When to apply
Request within 20 days from the day the spouse had the miscarriage or stillbirth; for cases occurring after Sept. 18, 2026, use within a range of 5 days (the first 3 days paid).
How to apply
Request from the employer (within 20 days from the date of the miscarriage or stillbirth). For the benefit, the employment center, such as through Work24 (고용24, https://www.work24.go.kr).
Important notes
You must request within 20 days from the date of the miscarriage or stillbirth. Whether cases occurring before Sept. 18, 2026 are covered retroactively has not been confirmed.
Note
No government benefit support for workers of large companies (priority support companies only per the press release). Limits on gestational weeks, splitting, and the benefit application deadline are not stated in the press release - since it has just taken effect, confirm details at 1350.
