- Benefit
- When the non-custodial parent does not pay child support, the state pays first and later recovers it from the debtor. KRW 200,000 per month per child until adulthood (age 18, full age). Requirements: holding a child support claim, non-payment for the previous 3 months or 3 consecutive times (monthly average received is less than the advance payment amount), and having applied to the Child Support Agency (양육비이행관리원) for legal and collection support or being in the process of securing performance. The income criterion (150% or less of median income) is abolished upon the amended Act taking effect on Oct 29, 2026 (applied from October payments).

- Until Oct 29, the income criterion (150% of median income) applies. After the amendment, income does not matter. Amounts paid are recovered from the debtor (right of reimbursement).
