Benefit
Recognized income at or below 48% of median income (1 person KRW 1,230,834; 2 persons KRW 2,015,660; 3 persons KRW 2,572,337; 4 persons KRW 3,117,474). Actual rent (deposit converted to monthly rent at 4% per year) is paid up to the standard rent limit. Standard rent for 1-4 persons: Seoul KRW 369,000 / 414,000 / 492,000 / 571,000; Gyeonggi and Incheon KRW 300,000 / 335,000 / 401,000 / 463,000; metropolitan cities, Sejong and special cities outside the Seoul metropolitan area KRW 247,000 / 275,000 / 327,000 / 381,000; elsewhere KRW 212,000 / 238,000 / 283,000 / 329,000.
Who is eligible
Households whose recognized income (income plus converted assets) is at or below 48% of the standard median income (기준 중위소득) and who live in rented housing such as jeonse (lump-sum deposit lease) or monthly rent. The income and assets of support obligors are not considered.
When to apply
Apply any time; paid into your designated account on the 20th of each month

Important notes
Paid after review and housing inspection following application (retroactive payment is limited). 2027: the 48% selection criterion is maintained and standard rent is planned to rise by KRW 12,000-50,000 (Seoul 4 persons KRW 596,000; Gyeonggi and Incheon KRW 488,000).
Note
If recognized income is at or below the Livelihood Benefit selection criterion (32%), the full standard rent limit is paid; above that, part is self-paid. Free (loan-for-use) housing is mostly excluded. There is no support obligor criterion.
