Announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on September 1, 2026: payment for 6 days a week excluding unpaid holidays (total amount and 120-270 days maintained; monthly ceiling around KRW 2,040,000 to KRW 1,810,000 and floor around KRW 1,980,000 to KRW 1,700,000; the benefit period lengthens by about 3 weeks to 1.5 months), the ceiling linked to 103% of the floor, and the premium rate raised from 1.8% to 2.0% (from 2027). Requires a law amendment; legislation targeted within the year.
