- Benefit
- 2026 basic benefit KRW 349,700 + supplementary benefit. Ages 18-64: living and medical benefit recipients KRW 439,700 / housing and education benefit recipients and near-poverty group KRW 429,700 / above the near-poverty level KRW 379,700. Selection criterion (recognized income): KRW 1,400,000 for a single person and KRW 2,240,000 for a couple. If both spouses receive it, each basic benefit is reduced by 20%. For those 65 or older, the basic benefit stops and is converted to the Basic Pension (기초연금) (separate application).
- Who is eligible
- Persons aged 18 or over with severe disabilities under the Disability Pension Act (formerly grades 1 and 2, grade 3 with multiple disabilities) whose own and spouse's recognized income is at or below the selection criterion
- When to apply
- Apply any time; paid retroactively from the month of application, deposited on the 20th of each month

- Important notes
- Most people need a disability severity reassessment (those aged 65 or over and those assessed by the Service after 2017.4.1 are exempt). Payment starts from the month of application, so apply without delay. Upon turning 65, apply separately for the Basic Pension (기초연금).
- Note
- Excluded from the income calculation for basic livelihood security, and a seizure-protected account is possible. Students with severe disabilities aged 18-20 must choose between this and the Child Disability Allowance. Expanding to single grade-3 disabilities is a 2027 proposal (not finalized).
