For 15 or more public transit trips a month, refund of 20% (general), 30% (youth/seniors/2 children), 50% (3 children), 53.3% (low-income) of your spending

Details
Age 19 or older, living in a participating local government. With 15 or more trips a month, the refund rate applies to spending on up to 60 trips a month (2 per day): general (ages 35-64) 20%; youth (ages 19-34), seniors (age 65 or older) and parents of 2 children 30%; parents of 3 or more children 50%; basic livelihood recipients and near-poverty group 53.3%. In the first month of enrollment, the refund is paid even with fewer than 15 trips. Covers buses, subways, the Airport Railroad and wide-area railways (excludes express and intercity buses, KTX and SRT). It is automatically compared with the flat-rate type (Modoo Card), and whichever gives the larger refund applies. The youth age range may be extended by local governments (e.g., up to age 39 in Gyeonggi and Incheon, local government programs). Check with your local government whether it can be combined with a regional pass.
Eligibility
Residents of K-Pass participating local governments aged 19 or older (including foreigners). The refund rate varies by age, number of children and low-income status.
Timing
Enroll anytime; settled early the following month based on the month of use and paid by the card company (up to 14 days stated).
How to apply
After getting a K-Pass-eligible card, sign up and register the card at korea-pass.kr or in the app (rewards accrue only after registration). Households with multiple children or low income should submit their information under the MY menu.
Caution
Trips taken before card registration do not earn refunds (only after enrollment). No refund for a month with fewer than 15 trips (except the first month).

In 2026, KRW 150,000 per person (up KRW 10,000 from KRW 140,000 the previous year); KRW 160,000 for youth aged 13-18 and seniors aged 60-64 (media reports). About 35,000 affiliated merchants nationwide (performances, movies, books, travel, sports, etc.). Additional benefits such as a KRW 2,500 movie discount. Unused balances expire on December 31 of the current year. Recipients who used the card the previous year and remain eligible are recharged automatically. Separate from some local government programs.

Plus type (including GTX, wide-area buses, etc.): KRW 100,000 / 90,000 / 80,000. Thresholds differ by region (Seoul metropolitan area, general regional areas, preferential and special support areas). No separate card is needed; the system automatically applies whichever is more favorable compared with the percentage type. The temporary 'half-price' period (threshold cut by 50%) from April to September 2026 ends with September use; from October use, the original thresholds apply. Check korea-pass.kr for specific amounts outside the Seoul metropolitan area.
